  • Your post was truncated. I have to make assumptions of where you were going. Let us get a few things down first. The success rate of "The Pill" is around 98% effective in preventing pregnancy. Its that 2% left over that can be worrisome. "The Pill" can change a woman's flow - even if she has been taking the same lot (drugs come in lots, meaning a huge patch is made and all pills from that are part of a lot - no two lots are exactly the same - although close, there are very minor differences that could, in some patients, have side effects) her chemistry can react badly to the pill leading to changes. It is possible you are running late this month due to the stress of being afraid of being pregnant (or work, or relationship issues or lack of money, or a visitor, or anything) - it is also possible that you are already pregnant. It is also possible that that pizza you had several nights ago caused a bit of indigestion which changed your body chemistry just enough to reset the clock (so to speak) to run a tad late. An exaggeration since when it comes to diet it is usually a dietary habit over a period of days or weeks or more that leads to hiccups in the menstrual cycle). Few women live out their whole life running the exact same schedule of events every month. Many factors (diet, exercise, stress, health issues, etc) come and go, and have an impact on this months flow. In many cases there is no "obvious" one event that a woman can point to and say "AH HA! _________ is causing me to be late." Usually it is a puzzlement that is never fully satisfied. Whether or not you have sex now depends on your comfort level and where you are at when it comes to stress. If you feel that having sex will lead to your worrying through the process and not achieving full satisfaction or lead to more worry which could affect the flow even more then refrain from sex. Remember on the pill there is around a 2% chance that every time you have sex you can get pregnant there is a risk involved each time no matter other circumstances. If you suspect pregnancy or suspect your prescription then call your doctor, set up an appointment. S/he has your medical history and can ask you many questions which I do no think you would like to answer in this open forum. It is possible that there are other health issues that are manifesting. We will call them "female problems". Some of those can be serious and should be attended to ASAP - while others are one time bumps in the road of life. I can not make a choice for you, I tried to outline the potentials here so you can make a more educated choice. ultimately you know your own body and how you feel - from that you can decide what actions to take.
