I've been at my current job for 5 months. I really like the company I work for, but it isn't really a good fit and I'm not making as much as I should. Should I accept a new job probably making more and it's a better fit?

have you asked for a raise? If so then i would go for the new job (if that dosent work out you most likely can go back to the old job.

You might be setting yourself up for going from place to place looking for the perfect thing. Have you tried working with your boss on how to improve your job?

If you like the company and you also like the people you work with, you should talk to the main boss about finding you a better "fit" within the company. If you have an immediate supervisor, sometimes lower or middle management doesn't have the power to do this. You should look for a convenient opportunity to speak with the main boss. If you can identify a job within the company you would enjoy, just ask the bos "what would it take for me to work at ...." (whatever)? If you can't find a position in this company that suits you, at least it is nice to have a job while you search for a better job. Just keep your job search activities a secret, and don't get caught looking for a new job on company time.
