Both will have you face considerable problems. You cannot just put on a turbo and intercooler. Things are much more complicated.
You could try and put in a Evo-engine, but you will indeed face a whole lot of work (engine supports, electrics, undercarriage, anything having something to do with keeping the car on the road, the works.
I think you're better off buying a turbo-charged car.
