Is it possible to be too close to your child? I feel like my wife loves our child more than me. She is a stay at home mom, which means she is with our child all day every day. When I get home, I cant even get 15 minutes of uninterupted time with her.

The only way a person can be too close to their child is if their relationship becomes inappropriate, or if the child is much older, out of the home, and the parent can't let the child grow up and move on. If your wife is home all day with your child, it is natural that it would be hard for her to stop paying attention to him/her to focus on you because all day her time revolves around the child. once your son/daugther goes to bed, do something nice for your wife that gets her attention focused on you for a little while, like rub her back, run her a bath, sit on the couch and talk. if you want some time with her, you might have to kind of fight for it until your child is a little older.

If the time when all of the family members are together goes smoothly then alone time is more likely to happen. It will feel more like a continuation for her rather than a separate "job".
