When cats eat houseplants, couldn't that be a sign of nutritional deficiency? Has anyone ever stopped this behavior just by changing the food?

Cats that don't have a chance to get outside are missing chewing on blades of grass and leaves. They use these to help their digestion.Cat food of itself is dead nutrients.

Cats just like to eat houseplants for some reason. However some are poisonous to cats. Here's a list of ones that are.

It could just as easily be boredom and wanting something to do. I know sometimes it seems like all cats do is sleep but they are very active at certain times of the day. Most cats seem to eat or play with houseplants due to boredom or just something to mouth. Adding plenty of toys and placing upside down mousetraps and mothballs around plants usually works quite well.
