Saying "I suck" is an understatement.
Trust me... it is pathetic.
I'm pretty good, I used to play in a 9 ball league - we won at the end of the year - I was BY FAR the worst player on my team - but I still got the trophy.
I am very good at pool
i'm not very good at any of em. i can hit the ball pretty damn hard and fairly straight, but i can't aim worth a damn.
from what i've heard, though, watch out for dreanna! heheh...
I do OK. At least I beat most of my friends (except one,he's very good) consistently. I'm not at a level to enter tournaments or hustle for a living, though : )
I'm pretty bad. I once lost $2.25 against a friend. I'm best at 9 ball, though.
I play 5 days a week and I am in two leagues we took our APA 9 ball team to Vegas last year and are going again this year for the national finals
I'm strong, according to some local sharpshooters. I've played for going on close to 20 years. Not that it means anything. I know of lots of people who have played since they were kids and still suck. I've been involved in a pool league of some sort since around 1994. My best games are 8 and 9 ball, but I love 14.1 (straight pool).
I'm pretty good. I have played 8 ball in APA pool league for several years. Made it to Vegas 1 time. Almost went again this year. Just started playing 9 ball in league this year. Started a blog about it. http://runthetable.blogspot.com
Not too shabby. We own a pool table so I've had lots of practice. Years ago I used to hold the table for several games.
Are you good at playing billiards?

Can you put a pool table in a garage where there is no heat or air? I live in Florida, heat and humidity.

You're reading How good are you at pool/billiards? Ever play in a league or tournament? What billiard games (8 ball, 9 ball, Bank Pool, etc) are you best at?

I just stand there drinking a beer and trying to look "cool". This is hard when I have to decline offers to play without saying "I stink!".
by Arisztid on August 14th, 2007
Im even worse. I cant drink and I dont smoke, and I just sit there in the shadows choking on the cigarette smoke and dont even bother to look cool when I dont feel like it *_*
by ... on August 14th, 2007
I try to be by the window if possible... I do not smoke either and it is very hard for me to be around it. If there are many smokers I usually leave.

i feel your pain...

You can be on my team then, I suck also. All my friends were pretty good in my local growing up, and would always try to get me to play. The pool table was in the centre of the room so everyone in the pub's eyes tended to drift towards it when people played, so you not only had the person or people (if playing doubles) you were playing with seeing how inept you were, but the whole pub got to see your pathetic attempts. I generally did the looking cool at the bar with my beer thing instead too.

Oh boy, we could make a "how to not sink a ball" club.
by Arisztid on October 3rd, 2009
If the idea of playing doubles came up it was always a standing joke about being the poor person who was landed with me, especially if we were playing for a drink.....
by Sid on October 3rd, 2009
Me too. :P
.
Look at it this way. We would not win any drinks but we could get snockered and enjoy how much we bite.
by Arisztid on October 3rd, 2009
Yup, that describes my usual "tactics" perfectly.
by Sid on October 3rd, 2009
Indeed.
.
I have actually been bought pity drinks. Of course I ate them up, erm, drank, while playing up for my friends.

The guy with ONE ARM and a prosthetic was better than myself.
by Arisztid on October 3rd, 2009
That is a real coincidence, I got beat once by a guy with one arm too!! I can't believe I just said that as though this is something really cool that we have in common.....he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer either, and looked like the product of many years of inbreeding, so getting beat by something that looked like an extra from Deliverance with only one arm wasn't my highest point.....

LOL!
Have either of you ever shot a cue ball off of a table on to the floor, or ripped the felt with the tip of the stick?
.
When I was in the Navy a few decades ago I had a beer or two at a bar while I was playing pool there.
.
As I was walking around the table looking for a shot, I slipped in a puddle of some unidentifiable liquid, fell on my back, and broke the stick I was carrying. :P
.
A waitress came over, looked down at me, and said, "Sir, I'm afraid we have to ask you to leave."

Yes, I have done the cue ball thing but not the felt.
by Arisztid on October 3rd, 2009
I've done the cue ball off the table thing (more than once), though not the ripping of the felt either. That looked like an out-take from the filmed biography of my life, and even now, despite being dead for decades, WC Fields could probably have a game with me and it would still be a struggle for me to be victorious.
