I had a blown headgasket in my 1998 Pontiac Sunfire and had a new engine dropped in. Why has my check engine light come on?

    Go to a good parts store, Advance Auto Parts for example: They do FREE OBDII analysis. A shop charges about $65. Why pay? Get it free!
    You got a new engine? The ECM may not match the new engine if you have the old one still in it. That could cause your problem too. (ECM = Electronic Control Module: Engine Computer - Brain Box) The OBDII check should identify your problem. After it's fixed, if the light remains on, take it back to the parts store: They can clear the memory fault code: FREE.
