as long as you don't mean the whiny screachy bunch of college girls type ;) i've heard too many of them :p
they are alright. they are cute but >>>>some<<<< are annoying. I like girls that are balanced.
They annoy the heck out of me.
Not my type.
Im a rock chick guy.
Tell me slowly. What are they wearin'?
I don't think being a girly girl has anything to do with her looks. It has to do with wanting to have her nails polished, loves lotions and creams, has a passion for clothes, makeup and hair. She likes to look good and feel good.
I am definitely a girly girl.
Girly girls are attractive, for sure. They put lots of time and energy into being attractive. And I think that has it's place.
But when a girl is so deeply entrenched in girl world that she can't relate to guys, she's basically a Barbie Doll. She'll always wonder why guys are so shallow, and they only care about her looks. Interestingly, she's built this dynamic herself, because she doesn't really have a personality that a guy CAN like.
This is most pronounced in younger girls, but it carries on sometimes. How many times have I been somewhere talking to a girl, and I feel like I have to force conversation, because she's only interested in talking about some girly TV show, these cool shoes she bought last week, and whatever celebrity gossip is hot this week.
Seriously, get over yourself, and meet me halfway. You don't have to like cars or sports, but dammit, if you can't have a decent conversation about music, or a similiarly gender neutral topic, at least, I'm gonna get bored.
Now, at that point, if I'm still talking to her, she knows I just want to get into her pants. She's given me nothing else to care about. Thus, the self fulfilling prophecy about shallow men who only care about her looks.
I am not in to them so much but they can be cute.... and I' ike a nice girly girl rather then mean feminazi bitch!
note: Feminazi and femist are not the same thing but just in case ~ me puts on a flack jacket and helmet~
I love the girly girls because I'm a manly man............
They're awesome!
They are much like boyly boys except the opposite.
I think they are sexy and very feminine.
Hah, I thought you said ugly girls at first.
Well, as a girl who grew up as somewhat of a tomboy, I feel a little ambivalent towards them.
On the one hand, I feel sorry for them because your stereotypical "girly-girl" is typically weak in both mind and body. I know this isn't always the case, but that is the stereotype for a reason. So I sometimes feel like "Oh, that poor little thing."
On the other hand, I've found them shallow and vain, and often vapid. Which to me is incredibly irritating.
Needless to say, I am friends with none of these.
Yes ok if you like that kind of thing...
My husband calls me a girly-girl, because I always look feminine, my nails stay manicured(and toes)I always have makeup when I go out in public, and basically I primp alot...(this answer makes me sound like a total priss, but I'm really not, lol)
I find them annoying.
I love being one.
I think they are them. I dont think we should judge or hate them for they are who they are.
Ahh, but the counter point to your argument is that you would have to be willing to talk to me about the bigblock 450 Chevy motor that my buddy down the street is rebuilding in his spare time.
I wouldn't expect mush more than superficial interest from you, and I wouldn't expect that you would expect more than superficial interest from me about your dress. As in: 'That dress looks good on you...'
My point here is to seek common ground things. Stuff you can both get into.
And the typical 'girly girl' is a bit light on those sorts of interests. And that's okay, but I will get bored with her pretty quickly as a result....
I used to be one when I was little, but then I became older and smarter. lol, jk
I don't really care, as long as they know how to be smart and strong in the right situations.
I would like to see them lift weights
they're oohk as long as they dont talk to me XD
I wish my daughter was a girly-girl, but she's more of a tomboy. I would say a girly-girl is a female who really primps, wears dresses, skirts, nice shoes, etc. (Myself, I live in sweats and shorts and sneakers!)
i heard of a girly man but a girly girl, what???? that is a new one for me, are we all girly girls unless we are tomboys. humm.
Personally, I tend to prefer more dominant Ladies. My preference is not uber dom Ladies but, well, like Keysha. I cannot really explain. I like to be able to talk cars and martial arts with my Ladies, for example, and have them keep up with me.
That is a personal preference.
However, what "feminine" brings to my mind is a kind of gentility. All women can be classy, be them strongly dominant or girly girl. All women can be, well, the opposite of classy, be them strongly dominant or girly girl.
Sometimes I love hanging out with girly girls. Other times I don't. I guess I just have to be in that mood for squeakyness and pink.
I don't like it when they can get all "OMG I BROKE A NAIL!". Shhh.
as long as they are not high maintenence, great. so many women are afraid to be girls these days as though it means they are weak. they end up just being venomous and angry. women need to realize being a girl is a good thing again. I like feminine. I would rather watch a display of agility like dance or kung fu than a macho show like football or boxing. I am not metro... theodore rosevelt "walk softly but carry a big stick" I like that, too bad most men have replaced it with "who's the man... I'm the man" and agressive posturing.
I have no problem with them.
What I'm trying to say goes a bit deeper than that.
It's cool for me to have guy interests, and I don't need you to pretend to be into those things. I don't need a girlfriend to talk cars with. I've got plenty of guy friends who like to talk cars.
I don't think you need a guy to talk clothes and makeup with. You've got plenty of girlfriends for that.
But, we still need to connect. And instead of pretending to be into each other's stuff (which probably isn't true...) we can share interests that are gender neutral.
Music, movies, dancing, video gaming (if you're that girl...)
My point is that instead of faking an interest that doesn't exist, broaden your horizons a bit, and find something that both of you can get into.
And there's my problem with the girly girl. She wants to turn me into another one of her girlfriends. Good Luck with that. A leopard doesn't change his spots...
It really depends on your definition of girly girl. In many ways, I myself would qualify (I always have to get a man to open that damn jar for me). In other ways, I don't. I do not really have a generalized opinion of these women. I judge each person individually based on their behavior.
don't have a problem with them
burn em at the stake
Just take it as a compliment
I like them. I also like Crusader's avatar.

You're reading A co-worker called me a girly-girl the other day, which surprised me. What qualities do you think constitutes a girly-girl?
- which can also be phrased in the following ways:

Whiny and screachy have nothing to do with being feminine.

seems to be where i come from :S
by Sunshine1 on November 25th, 2008
Whiny and screechy does not equate to feminine. Feminine, in my mind, equates to a soft sort of classiness. You do not need to be "feminine" to be classy, but that is what femininity brings to my mind first.

That is exactly right Arisztid.
