You understand that a slvage title means that the car has been totaled before. You can never get full coverage on the vehicle. The best thing you can do is to sell it to a junk yard and buy something else

WRONG WRONG WRONG, as to the answer above... Just because your car was considered totaled by the insurance company doesn't mean its useless. They just did that because the cost of repairs was more than the value of the veh, and they were better off to total it. Salvage title means you opted to keep the veh, and the insurance companie called a local salvage yard, and seen how much they could get if they sold your car to them, they then deducted that amt from what they offered you. You take the paperwork they gave you, and go to the dmv, and get a salvage title. Depending on the year of the veh, as long as you fix it back to road worthy condition, then you should be able to get a rebuilt title, which means car was once messed up, but is road worthy again. Any car can be fixed, just a matter of is it worth it to you. And also depending on the year of the veh, you may have to wait like 5 years to get a rebuilt title, not sure on exact details, but ask DMV. Usally if a car is 7 years or new meaning a 00 or newer you would get a branded, or salvaged title.. If older than 00 not required to have branded title.. Exp: Claim Adj
