Well, how much do you love your car?
I wax my 1993 family sedan twice a year: just before winter and just after spring.
My friend who really loves his 2000 Dodge truck, waxes it four or five times a year. He feels it is a move in recapturing maximum resale value.
...and my other friend, who owns a 1965 Corvette and only drives it in good weather, waxes it once a month. Of course, a car like that must retain the original paint.
Wax your car all you want. But for me, twice a year seems to be sufficient.
I recommend you hand wax your car at least every 3 months. You should also wax it during the time of day the sun won't be beating down on your car. You don't need to wax it after every wash. It won't hurt to wax more than once in 3 months, but hand waxing is not easy work and probably won't be needed more than once in that amount of time. Water SHOULD bead up on a waxed car. If water on your car spreads out, you need to wax. Wash you car BEFORE waxing...Unless you want to wax over dirt or bird droppings.
