  • Admitting guilt. Asking forgiveness. Being willing to do whatever makes the other person comfortable (stop hanging out with certain people, calling the "other woman" (or man) in front of the spouse to say that it's over, go to counseling, etc.) Following through with promises. (Temporarily) giving up the right to privacy if the wronged person wants (allowing access to email, phone records, etc.)
  • 1. Stop putting himself/herself in situations where he/she may be tempted to cheat. 2. Admitting what he/she did. 3. Stop talking to the people/person he cheated with. 4. Giving up his/her right to privacy either temporarily or permanently. 5. Putting more effort into his/her relationship.
