In doubles, server hits the player not returning the ball in the opposite box. Is this a fault? What is this?

Are you talking about Australian receiving formation. because that would seem to me to be the reason a secondplayer is in the receiving side of the court for a service. The laws state if the player is hit with the ball the player loses the point. This may be incorrect advice because I am afraid you have not made it clear on the formation of receiving. If it is not Australian formation the second player on the receiving side of the net would be in the opposite side court and to be hit with the ball it would have to be a very wild serve and therefore a fault.
