  • There used to be an adjustment screw for this on the back of TVs. It would let you correct this problem (called "folding") with just a screwdrive. However, everything on TVs is so electronically, rather than physically, adjusted these days, I doubt you have such a control on your TV set. Try calling a TV repair service and telling them (over the phone -- not in a service call to your house) that your TV picture is folding over at the top. Also tell them the model number and brand of TV you have. Ask if your type of TV has any controls that could be adjusted to correct the problem. Most likely they'll say that the controls are inside the TV and that a trained serviceperson needs to do the adjustment. That is true. Even an unplugged TV could give you a nasty electric shock if you don't know what you're doing. So DON'T go poking around inside. If they say they have to see the TV to evaluate it, and if your TV is lightweight enough, take the TV to them rather than having them come to your house. That should save you some money. Ask if you can make an appointment for them to check the TV out while you wait. They'll probably say no, but it never hurts to ask. Good luck! I hope you don't need a new TV (like I do -- they don't make parts for my TV anymore), but if you do -- here's your chance to upgrade to HD widescreen! Just watch out for LCD. The pictures aren't as good as plasma or DLP. However, the LCDs are cheaper...
