That is to misunderstand how the Universe is expanding. The Universe has no perimeter, just as the Earth has edge to fall off. The Universe is a closed three dimensional space, just as the part of the Earth we can use is a closed two-dimensional space. The Universe is expanding in a three dimensional way just as an inflated balloon expands in a two dimensional way. Thus the Universe has no center and no edge, just as the Earth's surface doesn't.

I have a theory, it is hard to explain and can not be proved (atm ofc). The universe is infinite. It is just space, nothingness, EXCEPT for one section of it, that is our part of it, the big bang sent out all matter from a single point within this huge nothingness, this matter is spreading out all the time and what is actually considered to be out universe is simply the area (or volume) where matter could be, that is assuming that the speed of light is the maximum atainable speed (again, I have a theory that states that it is not!). The big bang happened aprox 14 billion years ago and as such the universe we live in a almost spherical shape with a radius of aprox 14 billion light years. I hope that makes sense, its really hard to explain.
