My grandma used to sing "You are my Sunshine" to me and my cousins when we were little. Two years ago while she was in the hospital, a few hours before she passed way, we all sang it to her. She fell asleep, and never woke up.

Well, not when I went to sleep, but every morning when I woke up my Mom would sing "Gooood morning, good morning! Ain't it great, to be awake, good morning, good morning, to you! The sun, is shining..." (I can't remember the rest) but it has always been a very happy childhood memory of mine.

Yes, I'm glad my mom used to sing this one song to me. I know it was from a movie, but not sure what it was. It went something like "See here, Sandman's a-commin', and he'll be here mighty, mighty soon. So if you don't cry, he'll be stoppin' by with a great big lollipop moon. Dream, dream, dream, be an angel, dream dream dream, be a darlin'. I love my pretty baby, honest to goodness I do."

I grew up with my dad playing guitar and he and my mom singing all the old songs to us six kids... Send Me Your Address From Heaven Silver Haired Daddy of Mine Old Shep You Are My Sunshine Abba Dabba Honeymoon We Buried Her Beneath The Willow If You Let Me Be Your Little Sweetheart Candlelight Down in the Little Green Valley Sentimental Journey Side By Side Patanio Little Buddy Please Mr Conductor Put Me In Your Pocket Put, Put, Put, Put, Put Your Arms Around Me But the song I remember most that mom would sing us to sleep with was Chocolate Choo Choo. All of these songs are very dear to me and take me back to the days I felt safest and most loved. I am forever grateful to my parents for making music such a big part of our lives.
