Naa, despite all the bad things the US government is responsible for, there are still far worse people out there - they aren't as well armed, but they are FAR more malicious. The difference was explained to me thus: If the US Government had control of a PERFECT weapon, it would use it to kill, or otherwise incapacitate only very specific targets (the leaders of terrorist organisations, etc). But if the Terrorists had control of a PERFECT weapon, they would use it to kill vast swathes of society. ^ If you think that's an overreaction, you obviously have neither listened to the Terrorists themselves, or read the Qur'an (in the case of the Islamic Terrorists, which are the primary ones I am talking about).

No, the USA doesn't have that kind of power, and neither would it help the USA if the world ended. China and other nations are tied to the American economy, so the USA is co-dependent on these nations.
