  • Take a look on Ebay it might help you.
  • It really depends upon several factors. WHO made the chest? What is the CONDITION of the chest? How Rare is the Chest? And Lastly and ALWAYS a factor...How badly does the potential buyer WANT what you have to offer? Your best bet is to have it appraised. While checking on E-bay is a great idea to get potential ball-park suggestions for what sort of values might be placed on any given article...ultimately an appraiser is the one best qualified to give you the closest INFORMED estimate of the value, dependent upon the qualifiers I've mentioned.
  • It also depends on the wood used and the place of origin. (Which are usually one in the same as far as deciding factors go.) 1920's travel trunks in good condition can get anywhere from $25.00 up to $200.00 at auction and more if in a shop. Certain designs factor in to the price. A plain old thing is never going to get as much as a period decorated item. If it has travel stickers on it it can be worth twice that.
  • Sorry... Hope chest, is different and I didn't read it well. Hope chests, if from the 1920's depending on the place of origin and the condition are about the same again, depending on the decoration. Hope chests from let's say Pennsylvania Dutch areas are twice as valuable as a regular one.
