  • I have sen this. They are very common in the US. We had so many of them in California and they are all around here in upstate New York. Back in CA I knew several people who kept them as pets or tried to keep them as pets. They don't stay cute and lovable for long. When they reach adulthood they can be really mean and bite everything in sight. They are hard to keep as pets because they are totally nocturnal and are into everything with their grubby little hands. They can be trouble to dogs as they will attack when cornered and will even try to drown a small dog. Almost happened to our neighbors. And if you keep chickens, as we do, they are a real pain to keep out of your coop. They will tear through the toughest wire, dig under your fences, and escape with a fat plump chicken under each arm>-) But they are funny and very cute. Check out my favorite video of raccoons at Youtube.
  • I haven't seen anything like this, but I do know that raccoons are prone to stealing. I think the raccoon's eyes are creepy though.
