  • Sharing intimate thoughts and feelings can only be done in the atmosphere of safety. When one feels safe and free of feelings of rejection, humiliation, fear of information not being confidential, then, and only then is a man (or woman for that matter) going to take the chance of being vulnerable. There is a reason for the old saying, "Time heals all wounds." It is true. Be patient with him, and more so, show him by your actions that his thoughts/fears/wishes/dreams are safe with you. Never belittle his expressions of honesty or tell him he shouldn't feel a certain way. Don't push...your actions speak louder than words. It will happen. Just love him and accept him AS HE IS. You want the same for yourself, don't you?
  • Cultivate a sense and atmosphere of tolerance, security and compassion... Be the source of that for him in his life and he may just begin to trust more people by your good example!
