  • First of all, who says that God is not capable of getting rid of Satan? God just chooses not to at this time because Satan is a necessary part of His plan. We are supposed to walk by faith through this life. We must learn to tell the difference between good and evil and to choose the good. As part of this it is necessary for there to be a force acting in opposition to God, tempting us to not follow God's commandments. Without that opposition, there would be no choice. However, the scriptures tell us that eventually God will imprison Satan and ultimately consign him to the fate that he chose when he rebelled against God. So, God will eventually get rid of him. Second, God and Satan are not the same being. I will just refer you to a single verse from the Bible, but there are others. "22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. "23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David? "24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. "25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: "26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? "27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. "28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you." Matthew 12:22-28 (http://tinyurl.com/ayvrx) God and Satan can not be the same being because then God would be a house divided against itself. One side would be trying to destroy all of our souls; the other would be trying to save us. One trying to drag us down into the ultimate misery; the other trying to bring us to the point of ultimate joy. As the Savior said, such a situation is doomed to collapse. God and Satan are most definitely different beings and Satan is ultimately going to be consigned to the worst of divine punishments. ******************** There are some that would twist this answer to suggest that I say that God is responsible for evil in the world. Nothing is further from the truth. God tries to influence us to do good, but He is not going to force us to choose His way. Satan tempts us to do evil, but he can't make us follow him. Ultimately we are all responsible for our own choices and actions. We choose whom we will follow. Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Judas Iscariot, Cane, all are responsible for the evil that each of them did. Don't try to twist my words to say that I think that God is responsible for them.
  • No. The bible specifically says who satan is. He was the chief angel, endowed with great beauty and authority. If I remember correctly, he was the leader of the angelic 'worship team'. Now he has been thrown out of heaven and prowls the earth, making war on God's followers. That's what the bible says, anyway. The more pertinent question, though, is WHY doesn't God get rid of satan? Riddle me that.
  • Your question is a slap in the face to God! First you need to understand who God is and His attributes. God is infinite, boundless, and unlimited! there is nothing that He cannot do.The bible says" there is no power but of God" God spoke the earth into existence including Satan. God has always had a plan and he used Satan in his plan. His plan is to redeem mankind! if you read the book of Revelation you will see that Satan himself will have to kneel before God and confess to Him that He is Lord! God will also send Satan to hell for all eternity. "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation of John 20:10) Satan is used in order for mankind to turn to God. Understand that God created Satan he is not equal with God! God is Holy and righteous, Satan's nature is sinful and disobediant.God cannot look upon sin. I suggest you read the bible starting in the book of John.
  • He is capable. He is going to throw Satan into the Lake of Fire, where he will be for eternity. But, I guess you can say that he will always still exist, because he will eternally be in the Lake of Fire.
  • God is capable. He will get rid of him forever.
  • God is capable of getting rid of Satan. Revelation 20:10 tells us that the Devil will be cast into the lake of fire and be tormented forever. Satan knows his fate, he's just trying to take as many with him as he can. I hope this helps you, thank you and God bless you!
  • I think it depends on your viewpoint of satan. Is He evil personified? Is He human nature? Is He Gods adversary? you might find this site interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satan
  • In the Hindu religion as well as many other religions God represents everything and both the good and evil in the world. The deities represents the qualities of mankind and one learns how to traverse the road of life by doing the right thing the best they can.
  • the one and the same thing, it can be extremely logic, or unlogic in some cases... if good can'T exist withouth evil, and vice-versa, then God wouldn't tke the chance to kill Satan (even thought the two are already ''dead''...)
  • G-d made Satan so he can can rid of him. Also book Revelation says Satan will be doomed and cast into the lake of fire like saved_by_grace said. G-d is capable.
  • God is capable of getting rid of Satan He made him. Now if you have ever been in trouble at school whick of the 2 would have been better: out of school suspension or in school suspension? Out of School of course.........you kind of get out of punishment in a sense. In school suspension reeked because you couldn't go anywhere or do anything and you were controlled. Now God isn't going to destroy Satan or get rid of him he is actually making he and all of his followers an eternal home of misery (Lake of Fire)..........in school suspension eh get my drift.
  • Nobody says that god cannot get rid of satan... He chooses not too.. And it is impossible to have good without evil, as its impossible to have evil without good. I think that if satan/god attempts to try and get rid of the other, they will inevitably destroy themselves, thats why neither attempt to destroy the other. Also god gives us the choice to choose between the choice of good or evil... There is a satan in all of us, such as a god in all of us... we all have a choice to follow certain paths, and when god made satan, he gave us an alternate choice, to show if our hearts are of good or evil.
  • Interesting ... one could think of Satan and God as being the opposing sides of one omniscient spiritual force.
  • yes it is possible.
  • Everything in the universe has originated from God. The God principle permeates everything in the universe and also exists beyond it. From this perspective both good and evil have originated from the God principle. They have both existed since the creation of the universe. However the evil was in seed or latent form at that time. According to a spiritual law ‘everything has originated from the God principle. It will be sustained and then undergo dissolution back into the God principle’. This happens as per an inherent absolute plan. Thus the universe has come into existence, it will be sustained for a predefined period of time and then it will undergo dissolution. As a part of this divine plan, the evil that was in seed form at the origin of the universe steadily grows. It manifests in the form of evil elements and persons. With the passage of time, the evil element will keep on growing until it reaches 100%, at which point the universe will cease to exist. • Revelation 12:7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi′cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! 11 And they conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their witnessing, and they did not love their souls even in the face of death. 12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”.... satans time is short as shown by the scripture, that is why there is so much troubles on the earth and increasing because satans time is running out.
  • That is a distinct possibility.
  • i just assumed no since God is creator and it was always clear to me that satan was creation - creator and creation are never the same to me, but i'm speaking for only myself here
  • They are both the same in the sense that they are made up by primative men who didn't understand how the world works. What they liked was from a god. What they disliked from from the devil.
  •   "Why can't God get rid of satan?"   Because satan doesn't exist except in the mind of man.   "Does hell exist?" No! Hell is a contrivance of mankind for the purpose of controlling people. "will we be punished by God?" No! God is outside of the universe and time and doesn't meddle in the affairs of the universe. "Doesn't evil and suffering prove that God doesn't exist?" No! It only shows that we have no true concept of God, God's plan or man's relationship to God and God's plan. In contrast to believing in the Bible, i believe: 1. That God is that Creative/Causative Force that exists before the beginning of the universe/time and continues to exist outside of the universe and time. 2. That "Force" created/caused the spiritual/soul entities to come into being. 3. The spiritual/soul entities continued the "Creation" with the "Big Bang". And, through evolution and possibly subtle manipulations, have caused the current state of affairs. 4. The spirits/souls choose to inhabit the various physical bodies that they have created in order to experience physical reality. 5. When bodies die the spirit/soul continues to exist and often times reincarnates into another body in order to continue its growth. 6. The purpose of it all is for the spirits/souls (entities) to gain knowledge and experience and to ultimately rejoin or evolve back into the Oneness of God. The Bible is a book of history and guidance for peoples of certain times. The Old Testament was meant for the societies and peoples of ancient times. The New Testament was meant to change much of the Old Testament law and to guide the society and people of two thousand years ago. The Bible worked during the time periods it was meant to cover. Its guidance protected the people and gave value and purpose to their lives. The problem is that the Bible was meant for past eras and was successful therein. It, however, did not keep up with the times and technologies during the advancement of mankind. There may still be some lessons that can be learned from studying the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. But, the lessons must be tempered with the knowledge that exists in the current time period. Man and his technology has evolved considerably since Biblical times. The Bible has not evolved accordingly. It is therefore the province of man to interpret the whole Bible and attempt to allow its relevant parts to fit into the lifestyles of the current era. As long as they do not infringe on the rights of others, men are free to follow the teachings of the Bible for themselves. Your rights and beliefs end where mine begin. The Bible is a "crutch" which is necessary for some but not for all. It is a book written by men with the purpose of helping to guide other men through some of the pitfalls that life has to offer. It is also meant to give hope and purpose to those who may have no other way of finding same. Just as with other fictional works, it is not meant to be taken literally but parabolically. Parts of its historical accounts may be factual while other parts are symbolic. And, yet other parts are simply devices wherein to protect the health and well-being of people of that era. It takes many religions to give guidance to those who are in need of direction. Some use the Bible as their basis while others use other Books. They all serve a needed purpose. They all benefit the society of man. Just because the Bible (or some other Book) is right for you does not mean or make it right for everyone else. The human race is a diverse species. • I think its like a magnet. One side + and the other -.I dont blame Satan for not bowing down before Angles. He just believes in himself alot.
  • what makes you think that God cant get rid of satan? God created satan, all the angels, all the fallen angels ,all the universe and everything else known and unknown. are you the same as your mother and father? or are you, your own individual self? God could easily, (and unfortunately for mr satan), very easily destroy him just as fast. but any good Father wants, even His bad children to straighten up and grow up right. God has a plan, for humans and everything else. and mr satan will have to straighten up or be destroyed sooner than later.
  • You are sadly misinformed if you believe GOD cannot get rid of Satan. How could you possibly suggest that He is one and the same with satan?
  • You will see the time will come when God absolutely will
