Kurt had a painful, mysterious stomach ailment while still alive. I don't think anyone ever quite pinned it down. He said in many of his interviews/writings that it was one of the reasons he decided to try heroin. Whether the stomach pain was really a reason, I don't know. I also seem to recall reading (somewhere) that he had scoliosis. Also, (something I read in "Cobain"...the Rolling Stone book) when he was young, about 5 I think, he was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. I don't know whether you consider addiction an ailment, but it wasn't exactly healthy. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. If I remember any more, or run across them I'll edit this answer. Hope this helps :D

He had really bad stomach pains due to not singing with his diaphram which led to his addiction to herion and other drugs. He didn't use drugs for pleasure though. He used them for relief.

Kurt was diagnosed shortly before he died. As a child he had scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and this lead to several pinched nerves in his stomach. After the diagnosis he was treated and before he died his friends said he was positive about life, looked clean and off the drugs and was only drinking water and making plans for the future
