You're reading I am a US citizen, having a child with an illegal immigrant. Does the child now make the father legal, or will he be deported from the US?
Comments
The illegal immigrant is not eligble to become a US citizen because the child was born here. Now, last I heard, there is a mother camped in church claiming sanctuary because after giving birth immigration wants to send her back. Child can stay- not mother

FYI: The child is a US citizen not only because the mother is a citizen, but because it was born in America.
