  • I already have one. She's a Peruvian Paso named Rebecca or Becca for short. I bought her because the lady would take payments and the gait doesn't bother my back and knee so much. I use her for pleasure and trail riding when I have time. I would love to have an Irish Hunter, a Quater Horse, or a Fresian someday. And since I hate show politics and expense they would also be pleasure horses.
  • i'd like to have a couple of tennesse walkers. nice big horses, ride real smooth. i'd want them just for trail riding.
  • I've always been partial to Appaloosas since I was a kid. We used to raise them back in CA. We did everything with them. We could pack them up and go for days in the mountains or I could go jumping all over our property and dressage in the ring. Even round up cattle if we needed:-) We sold all of our stock to move here to NEw York and I really miss riding and just having them outside to brush and talk to. I'd had horses nonstop since I was 9 years old and I'm over 50 now. Here in upstate NY there are draft horses everywhere and lots of driving horses, the one thing we've never really done with success (long story). I think at this age, I would love to have something warmblood or draft, but small, to ride and drive, something that can stand up to the cold and harsh conditions, something to brush and play with:-)
  • Ive always wanted one! I'd like something like an arab or a TB, I'd just hack them and take them to shows sometimes Im partial to chestnut, black and dapple greys too
  • Quarter horse/draft horse crossbred. Why? They have the speed and agility of a quarter and the laid back easy going temperament of a draft. I ride a big 3/4 Quarterhorse - 1/4 Clydesdale now. But he's getting too old (21)for the steep trails we ride. Besides I'm not as skinny as I used to be. LOL Must be middle age spread. They tell me I should be able to loose it as soon as I finish going through the change of life, but I'm not holding my breath. When we had Dan's teeth floated last year the vet said that because he was part draft horse he would only have to give him half of the amount of anastetic that he'd give a regular horse.
  • I would LOVE a black/dark brown Morgan. They have such spirit.I have the area for it but I am getting older and my interests have changed.I dont think I would have the disipline to do it any more.sigh.
  • a horse with no name
  • I have had so many different types and worked with so many different types. I respect, admire and love each for what they are. But a few stand out. A good racking horse is a real thrill to ride. I have been fortunate enough to own one, and she was an amazing ride. Here is one of the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HuEccBod-0 I'd also love to have a team like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te3LGOGp2fs&feature=related
  • I have 13 horses but most are retired as i run a horse sanctuary. The horses that can be used are: my thoroughbred, an arab x boerperd, 2 boerperds, American saddle horse and friesian x percheron. They are used for trails and for teaching people natural horsemanship and how to ride in tune with your horse. I also do equine therapy - with the horses that cant be ridden and the donkeys. people come out and groom them and walk with them in the veld and learn about them. there are a variety of jobs for my horses and they all seem to really enjoy their work.
  • Any horse as long as it has good conformation, is sound, and is fairly good-looking (for self-esteem purposes), and I would just use it to ride for fun and to learn on.
  • I would love to have a Gypsy Vanner, also known as Gypsy Cob. First thing they were bred by my people, which is a selling point for me. They are all around good horses. Here is a bit about them: http://www.thegypsyhorsejournal.com/breedstandard.html They are extremely even tempered, strong, bred to pull our vardos and be all around family companions as well as working horses. "Disposition: The Gypsy Cob should be, above all else, a kind and willing partner. It should display an intelligent character and docile temperament."
