To answer this, it is easier for me to say what an adult is NOT.. An adult is not a 21 year old still living at home with the parents. (You still have a curfew in my house) Want to stay out until the wee hours? Move out. An adult is not a 19 year old without a job. Want to use the car anytime without asking??? Get a job and buy one. Move out. An adult is not an 18 year old who feels that since he is old enough to vote, he doesn't have to check before going out. Want the freedom to come and go as you please? While you are registering to vote, get a job, buy a car... Move out. An adult is someone who faces responsiblity head on. An adult will be considerate to another's needs. I know 16 year old adults and 25 year old children. Maturity and responsibility make the difference.
