I don't ride either.

yes I have a scooter. Sometimes I ride it to work or to the store. It gets about 200 miles on a two gallon tank of gas. Yeah, it's cool....

I ride a 400 cc scooter. I bought it to save on gas and general maintenance and it's turned out great. I ride it every day (the rain is a hassle) and I love it. About $6.50 fills me up for 10-14 days (about 45-50 mpg). I don't know if it looks exactly cool going down the street or not (not to Harley riders, anyway) but I wouldn't trade it.

I am not riding right now... I am between rides. I rode, and shall ride again, a motorcycle. I do not like scooters. I do not like them for their looks, though some look like actual bikes, and I like the knowledge that when I grab a handful of throttle, my ride is going to haul. That way, when some idiot car driver who does not see me tries to take up space I am currently occupying, I can get the hell out of danger. The scooters that I see look like crotch rockets. I do not like crotch rockets. I like my ass sitting nice and low on a plush cruiser. When I was riding, it was 24/7, rain and shine, hot and cold. It was my ride... period. Yes, you do save gas. Unfortunately purchasing my cold weather gear, rain gear, hippo hands, electric chaps and vest, etc. (all needed for those cold days) took up quite a bit of money.

I have a new Honda VTX1800. I put $4,000 into customizing it, giving it a value of around $20,000. I work 6 miles form the office, and would prefer to take the bike to work, but most times it's me that has to get lunch for the office, so I end up on 4 wheels. I enjoy riding more than anything else in the world.
