Well, for me a cute girl is adorable, while a fine girl is exceptionally attractive. I prefer cute girls because ususally along with being pretty, they have some additional component from their personality that draws me in (hence, being adorable). When it comes to "fine" or "hot" girls in general, it's ususally just physical unless I find they have an appealing personality. Also, yea cute girls are less intimidating.
