We have a lot a quakes here. If I am at the top of a tall building, it's really bad. You feel like you're on a pendulum. However, the buildings are built to swing to avoid collapsing so there is nothing you can do. They say that if you are caught in an earthquake outside, running into a bamboo forest is safe because of the intensive roots they have.
not sure, last earthquake in New Jersey/ New York area was about 2 decades ago i think
Minor - I ignore.
Moderate - I take some safety precautions then offer my first aid skills to any who need it.
Major - I freak & peak like everyone else, but I calm back down faster and revert back to being a trained rescue person as soon as the shaking stops.
I rarely notice them. I remember one time I was sitting in KFC talking with a friend and kicking the table, all while all the employees were rushing to stand in the doorways. I finally looked around and asked someone what happened, and lo behold, there had been an earthquake. Go figure.
