Why does the ps2 controller not work, it is on a continuous scroll through all the options and the buttons do not work?

A few reasons for this. First: when you turn your console on, it callibrates the controller so if you hold the thumb pad or control stick in any position it reads it as default. Second: your controller is broken.

It happened to me once.... It`s either its broken or if you play for a long time and sweat gets into it. So restart it and if it doesn`t work then your controller is broken!
