My first job without my parents... I worked at Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Villiage as a living history presenter. I dressed up in "period costume" every day and "lived" in one of the houses in the Villiage, took care of chickens, learned to cook on a wood burning stove, and had a great time for about a year and a half. How long did it take me to get hired? I went to a job fair and got hired that day. I was 16, and darn proud of myself.

I got my first real job (part-time) when I was 16, working as a weekend radio announcer at the AM station in my home town. I already had my "adult" voice by the time I was 15, so all I had to do was go in and audition. I think they hired me the same day.
