No. Joseph Smith is on record repeatedly preaching against polygamy as well as denying it. If Joseph practiced polygamy he would have been cowardly, a liar and in adultery. Polygamy was against the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and other revelations received to the church on monogamy. I'm not aware of Joseph being cowardly with anything he received from God such as the Book of Mormon.

I don't know about practicing it, he was pretty good at performing it though. He was a pro, he didn't need to practice.

its a matter of controversy i believe that in the rlds or what is now the community of christ it is believed that he never practiced polygamy and that Brigham young was the one who instituted it, in the lds church it is believed that Joesph smith instituted the practice and did in fact take multiple wives
