What is there to agree with exactly? As a Christian if it is from the old testament and is a law, it does not apply to be because by the Blood of Christ (only) am I saved. At least according to Paul who directly counters what Jesus said about the Law. I am a follower of Christ (only) Not Paul, not Moses, not Noah, not Abraham, not Issac nor Ishmael. As a Christ-Follower (Christians there are a plenty, and they are not all followers of Christ, many follow Paul/Saul) I stick only to what Jesus said on any subject. Well here's just one more chance to lose some points! But you did ask.... As a Christian I do not question what the Bible says; it is my interpretation that I must question. Personally, I see homosexuality as wrong and self-indulgent. I believe it to be a sin. That said, we are all sinners, regardless if we are homosexual or not. I don't see myself as less of a sinner. I try to acknowledge my sins, ask God for forgivness and attempt to refrain from sinning. I see the homosexual community rejoicing in its lifestyle. That is where they lose my support. I do however understand that each of us has to make their own decisions and be responsible for them.

Homosexuality has existed for a long time and in every culture. Some studies indicate it runs in families. Many artistic and creative people are gay. I really don't want to judge people. Also, the Bible has been changed and altered many times to suit the powers that be.

I wrestle with this constantly because I am a Christian who very much believes the Bible, yet my beloved son is gay and proud of it. As his mother, I love him for who he is and I celebrate the wonderful young man that he is. As a Christian, I pray for him, though not so he can be "cured". I pray for him so that he can come to salvation.

From my studies I see that the Bible dosent say homosexuality is wrong. I see a scripture saying that men shouldnt sleep with men but thats in the same chapter as scriptures about not being allowed to have sex with a women at certain times and lots of other silly outdated laws. And most of all this is all in the Old Testament. When Jesus died on the cross and rose again a new covent was formed. And nothing in the New Testament says that homosexuality is wrong!

As a Christian, there is a measure of faith involved in believing in God's word, but also a measure of faith in believing what God wants you to get out of his word. For me, I BELIEVE that there is a God, and that God created homosexuals, it is NOT the work of Satan just incase any of you are retarded enough to believe that. In itself, if you examine the New Testament references to Christianity and the greek word that English translations so conveniently translate to "homosexuality", it is ambiguous. Arsenokoitai which translates to man and bed literally, have a little more under the surface, and actually may refer to homosexuality in solely the sexual act, more specifically "homosexual predatory sin, which can take on meanings of slave-trading, homosexual rapist (as seen in the Sodom and Gommorah story)". http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/b-greek/1998-October/002084.html The Bible is interpretable in so many different ways, but what I want to bring to light ultimately, is two things. First, is God's love. Second, is God himself, in the form of Jesus who is the Christ. God's love is amazing, and I have come to learn that because he can even love someone like me. He loves the people you love, the people that are the same as you, the people you agree with. He even loves people you hate, people you think are different, and people you think are wrong. To God, we are all his children, no matter what cultural and societal divisions we make for ourselves whether it be sexual orientation, race, what we think is good and bad, etc. What is most amazing though, is that we are made perfect in who we are each individually, that goes for homosexuals as well. So how do i live with what it says? Distinctly, if you are a Christian, there is one big break in the Bible that is the turning point for all of mankind. That is what separates the Old and the New Testament. The coming of Jesus and the opening of the heavens, the lamb has come not just to wash away our sins, but to declare a new era of understanding what it is to follow God's law. From what is understood, the main upholders of religious law at this point are a group called the Pharisees. Though it may be a common conception to view them in a negative manner, we must understand that Jesus loved this group of people deeply. So much as to even GREIVE for them Mark 3:5. What is Jesus sad about exactly? It is the perversion of the very religious laws they uphold. To the Pharisees, the law of God has just become another set of laws of the state. They no longer see the importance of God's heart in the laws he have created, for the sake of compassion and love. In the parable of the man with the withered hand (Mark 3) Jesus tries to find a way for the Pharisees to soften their hearts and let go of the laws of society. It is the day of Sabbath so it was outlawed that there could be no work done, not even healing, or at least in the eyes of the Pharisees. Jesus stated that "Sabbath was made for man, not man for Sabbath." (Mark 2:27) and tried to bring back what it really meant to observe Sabbath. In Isaiah 58:13-14, it is described that Sabbath is a day where you give up your personal activities to rest to glorify God, and to just be blessed and be delighted that He is your God. What they don't realize is that this man, who is in so much suffering with his hand, is right in front of them, waiting to be received with love and compassion, just as God would receive him. But because they are so bound by the law and the system, they fail to see that doing GOOD on Sabbath, is the same as honoring the Lord... And so Jesus' heart breaks, because the interpretation of the law by man, has become so controlling and so corrupted in its meaning, that it no longer portrays what God had set these laws in place for. In terms of Leviticus, in most cases, the foods that we are not allowed to eat aka pork, is seen as unclean. The problem with the interpretation of the Pharisees is that instead of seeing pork as a food that we must not eat because of our cleanness and desire to be clean in front of the Lord, they see pork as a food that we must not eat to BECOME clean, a burden and rule they must follow if they want to be considered normal in society. So in an act of defiance, he heals the man's hand right in front of the Pharisees, breaking the law of the land. Unfortunately, that is all that the Pharisees see. They don't see the restoration of faith in the man who just got his hand healed, or the love and compassion that just shines from that moment, which in turns upholds the law of God, though not necessarily the law of man. And they plot to kill Jesus because he is a threat to their authority by breaking these cultural laws they have created. For us, in this day, the coming and rise of Jesus as our Lord and Christ, lays down this interpretation for me. Our world is constantly changing, and it won't ever really stop changing. If there is anything my walk with Jesus has taught me is that change is the only constant (next to God of course). If we as Christians have made a rift because of what we hold onto in these old testament laws, then we have truly failed to see what is the true meaning to follow Jesus and allow the Kingdom of God to grow. We have basically shut out the love and acceptance, just like the Pharisees did, we only see the word as a way to limit who we see as worthy. We have essentially said, "Yea, we are better than you" when really we are no better and no worse. We are all one and the same under the eyes of God. So to answer the question, I can live very well on what the Bible says about homosexuality. Because I eat pork, and I don't necessarily wash my hands every time before I eat, I know that your sexual orientation is not a measure to judge another human being by. And I believe with my heart that this is Jesus' heart, a heart of compassion, caring, and a cause of equality and justice. And this is my sort of faith.

Christians should Learn by the Old and Live by the New..That is not saying "ignore the Old Testament". Moses told the Israelites that homosexuality was not only wrong in God's eyes, It was an Abomination...I think when HE destroyed Sodom and Gommarah it spoke for itself and Jesus did not have to change an Abomination to HIS FATHER...HE did ask over and over, Don't you read the SCRIPTURES? if they had read right they would have recognized HIM..(ESPECIALLY THE HIGH PRIESTS) AND THY DID NOT... God gave us the OLD and NEW for very GOOD reasons... So, If I deny what the Bible says , I may as well Deny God...and I won't..

The way I look at it is: How do we decide what is right or wrong? Majority vote? That doesn't work because majority views can change. e.g people use to believe the world was flat. Racism use to be more overt and acceptable in some places but now seen as wrong. If the Bible is correct, then there is only One God, who created all things, and basically has the right to determine what is right and wrong. He has clearly said in His Word that homosexuality is wrong. He has built a certain order and structure into His creation, and homosexuality goes against this. That doesn't mean that I persecute homosexuals or tell them "God laughs when gays die" (By the way, I really hate those kind of slogans. It is unloving, untrue, and it does God a serious misjustice and misrepresentation), but at the same time, I don't endorse their lifestyle either.

The Bible syas to love thy neighbour, but if homosexuality is wrong, how can you love thy neighbour if thy neighbour is gay? The bible is full of contradictions because it was not written A) at one time and B) by one person. The different gospels are all different interpretations and accounts of what Christianity means by different people, and so people who believe every word of the bible need to perhaps open their minds a little, and make their own decisions about what Christianity means to them. Also, let's be honest, homosexuality is not a mere human concept. it is seen in animals of different species, and is no different to heterosexuality in terms of urges and drives. Homosexuality was not previously understood, and ignorance brings fear.

absolutely, i agree with what the bible says. the bible being the divinely inspired book that it is will correct our imperfect way of thinking on many subjects. the apostle paul said in 2timothy 3:16 that the bible "is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, reproving, for setting things straight, for discipling in righteousness." the bible therefore will set us straight on how we need to conduct our lives. this may not always be easy, due to our inherited sin and imperfection. we are conceived in error and therefore at birth we come into this world with many tendencies.

It has never caused me a problem so far. I also know of one Christian who leads a celebate life. Do I agree with it? Who am I to think I am clever than God? Yes I agree with it. But do we understand it? Probably not. If we understood it we would agree with it.
