If you found money,(let's say $5 or more) on the floor in a public shopping place, would you turn it in? Do you think it is ,"free money"? Do you think keeping it is theft?

Unless I saw someone drop it, I would keep it. I used to work at a grocery store and the people behind the customer service counter can't do much about a $5 bill.

I pick it up for them and give it back if it's close or at least tell them about it so they won't be lost without their money. They might be counting on it. Keeping it would be stealing to me and I don't take things from others like that.

I would tell the person. It would be wrong to keep it, that is stealing.

I have seen it happen and I picked it up and handed it back to them. Another time, I was in a casino and a guy who was pretty drunk dropped two $500.00 chips on the floor and didn't even realize it. He acted like he was shocked when I picked them up and handed them back to him.

If I see the person drop it or have a good idea who did it, I will tell them and give it to them. If I see a lot of money, I will had it over to the business owner or let them know I have it and if someone comes looking for it, where I can be reached. IT's not my money. It isn't a gift from heaven. I will do whatever I can to return it.

It's it not a large amount (say 20 or under) and I see it sitting there and didn't see anyone drop it...I take it. I know, I'm evil.

If i didnt see who dropped it. I keep it. Once i tried on a pair of jeans in a store and there was fifty dollars in the pocket. Hey, lucky me. :) ~+~

If I found money on the floor, its hard to say "hey anybody loose some money" everyone will say yes. If I see someone drop it, I will tell them, if it is a significant amount of money I will tell the manager, but not give it to them, just my number. I don't trust the manager not to pocket it.
