I would not give an award for "the most intelligent", however, here are two in the US that I recommend for intelligent viewing. Both are on PBS ( Public Broadcasting) on Friday nights. The show "Now" http://www.pbs.org/now/index.html Hosted by David Brancaccio is a lively and in depth look at currnt events. In my opinion it does have a liberal tilt, but only enough to turn off the most staunch conservatives. The other show, "Foreign Exchange" http://foreignexchange.tv/ is hosted by Fareed Zakaria editor of Newsweek International. It looks at world events and how they touch us all. I find it to be a "window to the world". A good show to have in the US, where I have found in my experience, a real lack of knowledge of the world outside the 50 states.

Any show that expresses ideas and growth and inspiration. There is little enough of that, but there is some. Public Television is pretty good.

Do you mean intelligent or educational? There are many programmes aimed at educating us about all sorts of things; some are obviously far superior than others. But if you are looking for an intelligently written and presented offering - Bones!
