NOOOOOOOOO. Aspertame is an artificial sweetner they add to diet soft drinks. It turns to a chemical called formaldahyde [the stuff they keep dead bodies in] at a temperature of I THINK 180 degrees farenheight. I don't really remember. All I know is, I used to drink around 2 diet sodas a day, and when I had to do a reasearch project, it opened my eyes. It MAY cause cancer.
people tend to believe that by drinking diet soda they can eat more, so it works against them.
They are only good in terms of contributing less empty calories to your diet.
When you look at them otherwise, they can have the capacity to actually increase your appetite & they are bad for people with phenylketonuria. There is much debate to the safety of some artificial sweeteners and I also read just yesterday that people who drink a lot of diet drinks have increased cardio-vascular disease (no causative effect has been identified yet - it is just a link).
I don't know, but diet sodas make me crave for sugary foods later.
I have an acquaintance who swears that her father's Parkinson disease is caused by him drinking at least 3 cans of diet sodas everyday. I don't know if there's been any research done on this.
No. Stay away from any kind of Soda and switch to Tea. Your body will thank you.
Yes, diet sodas are definitely better for me than regular sodas.
I have type 2 diabetes. Consequently, too much sugar is bad for me.
Be careful what you believe. If even a tiny portion of all the crazy claims being spread around about aspartame were true, then we'd be seeing a massive epidemic by now of all the ills that it is alleged to cause.
No, they are not. The are just as bad as regular one's for calories, acid, and sodium. It gives people the false idea they can drink more with less health problems.
Why do people say that a carbonated beverage will help with an upset stomach? My stomach is so queezy I've drank a 20oz. of Sprite and I still feel like I'm gonna throw up. No helping here.

I guess we should avoid mustard on hot dogs and hamburgers, too, because mustard gas will blister your lungs.

Please note that I realise many things may cause cancer. All I'm doing is informing people that diet soda contains aspertame or other artificial sweetners. Don't get so offended by my answer maybe?
