They believe the spirits of those who die go to a temporary location (referred to as the "Spirit World") where they await the final judgement and the Resurrection. They believe that Christian principles are taught there and those who had no opportunity to accept them on earth will be able to do so there. After the resurrection and final Judgement, they believe that the spirits of the dead will be assigned to a degree of glory. They also believe that a very small portion of spirits will be assigned to "Outer Darkness" where the devil and his minions will dwell. They believe this place is reserved for those who have vehemently opposed and fought against Christ. For those intent on rating this answer incorrect, please recognise that the question asked what Mormons believe, not what the Bible says or what other Christians believe.

Kim was very accurate and concise. One part that he needed to mention is that after judgement, the spirit reunites itself with the body, hence the resurrection, and the two together, never to be separated again, will inherit their final kingdom.
