  • I think you are trying to say someone who is "no longer with us". It would make me feel differently depending on who the person is.
  • Didn't you ask this EXACT SAME QUESTION like a day or two ago? I KNOW you did but I can't find the original... But don't worry. I'm searching. :) Found it: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/354664 My suggestion would be to please let people answer the one question you have instead of making numerous of the same question. :) Have a good day!
  • There are a few reasons why someone wouldn't change the answering machine message. First, (and the reason that I most identify with) if there is a voice on the message from someone who has died, I would have a seriously hard time deleting it. Mostly because it's not something that I could ever get back, once gone. But also, because maybe I like playing it and listening to it myself, just to hear their voice. The other reason - people rarely call themselves, and the answering message doesn't play when you listen to your received messages, and it may have been a long (long!) time since the message was recorded. So - perhaps the remaining owner of the answering machine does not remember that it is not their own voice on the machine, and hasn't thought to change it. Lastly - how would it make me feel? Maybe a bit sad, or nostalgic. But I'd totally understand why it hasn't been changed.
  • I would feel so sad but happy at the same time to hear the voice of a loved one that has passed away.
  • My mom still has the message that my father recorded on her cell phone voice mail. He died shortly after he recorded it. I find a certain comfort in being able to call and hear his voice.
  • Hey hows it going
