Help answer this question below.
somewhere under your hood is a small dipstick with a red handle, It is for your transmission fluid.
Check your users manual to find where it is, If I remember from my brother in law's car, it's down and kinda behind the transmission.
follow the procedure in the book to check it.
There has to be a quicker way to talk you through this,,,,
Ok, I'm going to make some assumptions now.
YOu are keeping up on maintenance, no?
Ok, Check your fluid levels first, some automatics make a bit 'o noise when reversing when fluids are low.
This won't be really loud, but could be heard over a stereo at the level I play mine at.
Second possibility is you actually are looking at a brake problem. Some vehicle swill make noise in reverse before they start making noise in fwd.
That much being said, take it to a local (reputable) shop with only 19,k major problems could still be a warrentee item.
Let me know how it goes.
Also there are some great auto groups available through google. look them up readteh boards on your year; chances are some onehas already asked about this exact problem.
keep me posted
