Because they focus on the story line, rather than the effects. Effects cost more.

Because the independents arent trying to push some bs woke agenda on telling people how to live thier lives the pathetic way. Which is what has happened to most Hollywood movies made in the last few years why most of them are total crap that people will only ever watch once.

That's your opinion. I prefer movies that have a significant amount of budget because the production quality is a lot more appealing to me. Whereas, independent films are not financially backed by a large production company. They are usually made with lower budgets, mostly unknown actors, appear to be filmed with a mobile phone and are plain rubbish. I am very picky when purchasing DVD/Blu-ray independent films, since most I have bought ended up being donated to a thrift store. 97% of independent films fail to turn a profit.

i don't know that this is always the case. However, the Hollywood studios are owned by bottom line managers who are after all the money they can get for the least investment.
