  • The Bible teaches in Daniel 12:4 that in the last days, knowledge/science will increase, and many people will run back and forth like crazy to buy the latest technology, causing many to disconnect from the natural world. Technology has accelerated at an awe-inspiring pace. It's gone from having a mere influence on people's lives to total dominance.

Isn't the context of that verse after the dead have risen, though? Also, times when technology hasn't been increasing have been exceedingly rare in history: mainly around the times great empires have fallen, like Sumer, Babylon, Rome, etc. Otherwise, I think you'd have a very difficult time finding instances when technology halted its advance. So, in a way, it's like predicting that, before the end times, the sky will be blue, or that the grass will grow, or that people will be evil. As for society being dominated by technology, I'm 100% certain that the same could have been said as far back as when humans moved from hunting and gathering to agriculture - because, well, once we were reliant upon agriculture, if you took a person and threw them out into the wild, they would likely die from not knowing what to eat or how to stay warm or how to not get a deadly disease.

No, verse 1 of Daniel chapter 12 is speaking of the Archangel Michael who will rise. He will release Satan from the bottomless pit. (Revelation 9:1-12) There can't be a time of distress such like never before seen if Satan is not released. Knowledge shall increase clearly teaches an "increase of information" in the last days or the end of times. The Bible also says that in the end of times, Jesus will return in all His glory to judge the heavens and the Earth. This is something to take seriously. If you have not repented, you are in for a rude awakening.
