  • It's been proven that groundhogs are only correct 39% of the time. So, it's wrong 61% of the time...not my idea of being able to predict. I do love it when it's wrong & we get warm weather sooner than anticipated!!! I know of no other rodent that's able to predict the weather. Although not a rodent, woolly worms predict how cold the winter will be. They were wrong this year!!! ;-)

      Yeah, I've heard the wooly bear worm thing both ways, though. Some of the older folks say that the bigger the tan band, the milder the weather, and others have told me the opposite.

      I'm what you would consider to be an "older folk". I was raised the fuzzier they are & the blacker the band, the colder the winter.
