  • nothing is forever eventually long after were all dead the planet will implode. Is more likely to happen than the planet will go on forever. The planet is due for an ice age .
  • Because the evidence supporting the proposition is very, very persuasive and verifiable and the evidence contradicting the proposition is very, very weak and suspect.

What evidence do you speak of?

Things like the astronomical evidence and physical evidence supporting scientific theories such as stellar evolution and nuclear fusion, for example.
  • These people might be focused on a really close time frame, and I don't get that either. But logically speaking, the world will someday end. We're only about 7.6 billion years away from the sun running out of fuel, expanding, and enveloping the inner planets of the solar system including Earth. And I for one plan to be there to cheer it on!

How do you know the world will someday end? How do you know the sun will run out of fuel? Can you prove that it will happen? So you will be 7.6 billion years old to cheer it on although in reality people don’t live that long.

We've observed stars similar to the sun at pretty much all stages of life. We've modeled the physics of what happens when stars stop fusing hydrogen, and we know how much the sun has left.

But how do you know how much the sun has left? Scientists have observed the stars for centuries but the sun is the biggest star in our galaxy. How is it determined how much time is left for the sun?
  • I'm guessing this is based on the fact that most things on earth age and decay. But of course there is the possibility out there that a multi-universe exists outside of time, and so therefore is eternal. Or with quantum physics that matter can pop in and out of existence, and is merely vacuum fluctuations, and that nothing is really something. Then of course there is the question what is time, and does it really exist? What is consciousness? • 2 Peter 3:10-12 teaches the Earth and its works will be burned up and destroyed. In the logical sense, the evidence of the world ending was close in a all-out nuclear war with the US and the Soviet Union. 1983 was a year that triggered the moment of maximum danger of the late Cold War. In the present, the UN secretary general said, nuclear war is "back within the realm of possibility" following Russia's warning when it was putting its nuclear forces on alert, amid the war in Ukraine.
