  • No. Even if you don't sin, you'll still never make it to Heaven. Heaven is God's home. John 3:13 makes it perfectly clear: "And no man hath ascended up to Heaven, but he that came down from Heaven, even the Son of man which is in Heaven." Adam is not in Heaven, Moses is not in Heaven - no one is in Heaven. John 14:2 states: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." One of those "mansions" will be earth after it has been destroyed by fire and rebuilt. Matthew 5:3 says, "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." - then just a few lines down, Mattew 5:5 says, "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth." People get caught up in the "kingdom of Heaven" line then read the "inherit the earth" phrase and immediately scream "contradiction!". No - it's not a contradiction. "kingdom of Heaven" doesn't mean "kingdom IN Heaven". Look up the definition of the word "of" and you'll find that it means "from". And thus, verses 3 and 5 do support each other, and this supports the fact that no one will go to Heaven when they die. It's hard to accept after being taught differently all your life, but it's a fact.

Just wanted to point out: common, standard, traditional Christian teaching is that no one entered Heaven before Jesus did. Jesus "opened the way". So: When Jesus said that - according to common Christian thought - it was true, but after his ascension "the gates were opened" and people went to Heaven. *** Rev clearly indicates that thousands are in Heaven. *** Mat 5:5 is a quote from the Old Testament concerning the Jewish possession and inheritance of the Promised Land. At that time the word "earth" (and the word translated "earth" in the Bible) did not have the meaning "planet Earth". It usually had one of the other standard English meanings of the word (typically: "land" - as opposed to "sea" or "sky"), though rarely in the Bible it is used to mean "region" or "territory" (for example: the story of the famine of Joseph's time).

Thanks for your input. Now, may I ask, where does it say "the gates of Heaven were opened" and people went to Heaven? Where does it say anywhere in the Bible that we will go to Heaven? What you're quoting as "Christian thought" is just that - Christian thought. There is nothing in the Bible to support it. Mat 5:5 was spoken in the New Testament and says nothing about the Jews. As for inheriting the Promised Land, it still hasn't happened - people believe it has, but according to the Prophecy, they had to be gathered up and led there by the Messiah. Obviously, the Messiah hasn't returned yet. Those that have claimed Israel are squatters and are there illegally.
  • Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
  • well i reckon if you are real sorry for ya sin...... but even a bad thought of any kind or swear word is supposed to be a sin
  • That is why I pray
  • We are all sinners but by the name of Yeshua we are forgiven. If we ask for forgiveness of our sin and have Yeshua as our Saviour we will go to Heaven.
