  • This movie was released in 2002 as the original Spiderman movie. The World Trade Center bit was scrapped after the terrorist attacks out of good taste. The film's original trailers involved Spiderman catching bank robbers with a giat web attached to the towers.
  • Sometimes, movie teasers (which are short movie trailers that only excite your interest) can sometimes be made on an entirely different budget and crew. Back in the summer of 2001, a teaser trailer for Spider-man was released that featured Spider-man snaring fleeing burglars in their helicopter in a massive web between to two towers of the WTC. After 9/11 this teaser was removed from circulation. However, there was no film that centered or heavily involved itself with the WTC itself. The only changes that were most likely made in the final movie were altering any shots that had the WTC in the background. The teaser can still be found on the web, just put in a search for Spider-man teaser and you should find it. Also bare in mind that production takes a major amount of time including post-production. If a movie was near completion at the time of September 11th, this means that Sam Raimi only had less than 8 months to rewrite, reshoot and go into a long post-production period to make it by the May release date in 2002.
