This is one of the risks members of the military face, no matter where they are. It wasn't Biden's fault. We've lost a lot of military personnel to terrorism. Being stationed anywhere in the Mideast right now amounts to combat duty. The Republicans know that, too, and they wanted out of Afghanistan as much as anyone else did. Unless they are genuinely stupid, they also know that it could never have been a clean and easy exit. Never. It would have been just as messy under Trump, who was foolish enough to think the Taliban would actually abide by his little "surrender agreement".
