You're wrong. Nuclear weapons put an end to WWII and kept the Russians at bay during the cold war. Learn your history so you don't have to repeat it.

Of course they're destructive and dangerous. All weapons are. The only way to prevent the other guy using his gun in a fight is to bring a bigger gun. And all your friends with their guns.
