I think at some point you have to make a decision that the person is not going to change, if they have promised countless times and have not delivered. Sometimes you have to accept the fact that you both want different things, he wants you to stop nagging, and you want to stop feeling disappointed and upset every time he breaks his promise which is the reason for your "nagging." Relationships die slowly when there is no growth, and a women's nagging is their way of expressing their feelings that the union is stagnant and dying, that their love is being replaced with distrust and resentment. The only thing you can do is change your behaviour in order to do what is right for you regardless of whether he ever changes, be it widening you circle of friends, doing activities on your own, making goals for yourself, in this way you may end up wanting to leave anyway and will find someone better matched in the long run, how many years do you want to waste waiting, or listening to excuses?. I know one woman friend who lost 13 years to a man who was never going to commit.
