  • Haha, yeah, of course. Also... The government paid $3.5M to install solar panels on the roof of the Manchester airport in NH. They then had to remove the panels because the reflection from them was blinding pilots. The kicker is that the estimated revenue expected from the solar array was $2M. So, they paid $3.5M to make up to $2M, but then had to pay more money to undo it because the premise was dumb in the first place.
  • Another BS study. As someone who is there currently, I can tell you that the problem ISN'T "better" tasting food - it's the taste itself. Overweight people don't become "addicted" to food - they're "addicted" to the TASTE of food. As an example of what I mean, I love potato chips but I am not addicted to potato chips - I have no problem walking past them in the grocery store. The problem comes in when I buy the chips and then take the first bite. Once I've experienced the taste, I don't stop until the bag is empty. I hate to admit that kind of thing but in the interest of accuracy... - therefore, it's not the chips that are addicting, it's the taste. You can't turn the taste buds on or off, and that's why it's difficult to stop eating them - it takes running out and depriving yourself of more to stop.
  • Not just fat people, the ingredients in fast food are lots of sugars, salts, fats and other chemicals which are designed by the food industry to be addictive, and so trigger the pleasure response in the brain, i.e. releasing dopamine and oxytocin, (hence comfort food). This reward encourages susceptible individuals to eat more unhealthy foods.
  • Is that true? Most of my life I've been very skinny. Now I'm undeniably fat. Did my taste change? (It doesn't seem so.) Or did I just end up in a situation (mostly my own fault) in which I get a LOT less exercise than previously?
  • What was Ran Paul saying about wasting government money on useless study's.
  • i think all ya can eat helped make people fat,\cause it stretched their bellies ...plus all the food in the super market and if ya not strong ya can eat way too much of the chocolate/cake/icecream /biscuits etc etc etc etc . and restaurants use tons of butter.and sugar .cream ,so all very fattening. and places that have the burger plus the chips and a huge drink thats one meal deal thats stretching a persons belly as well ...once upon a time, a burger was enough to eat
