Bacon is supposed to be bad for you but aren't the colorings they use in Turkey bacon even worse?

    Bacon often contains nitrates, which (other than the fat content or the way you cook it) could be what you are referring to in regard to bacon being bad for you.
    Not knowing the exact colours they are using to colour the turkey bacon makes this question hard to answer. Some red colours are naturally derived (from plant extracts or insect extracts) and others are chemically synthesised. Generally a natural colouring should be OK for you to consume, and artifical colourings are generally considered to be safe but many people do not agree with this view.
