  • Wow -sorry.
    • Linda Joy
Me too. I could have handed this better, but I do believe in being proactive rather than negative.
    • Linda Joy
Still you didn't do anything wrong. It just stung a bit to put in the effort and not only have it ignored (as I only had about a half dozen answers total off all those questions at the time) but it seemed at the time insult was being added. Now I reslise the questions were hard to see and you did nothing wrong. You were just being funny and I took it all wrong. I still maintain its better to be proactive and we all need to ask more questions.

The Cricket remark was not about how many new questions were being posted but how many people seem to be on the site at the same time. Sometimes there is only two or three here. THAT is what I ment. Sorry you felt insulted.
    • Linda Joy
Np. There have been several people on here since I've been gone these last few days.
  • Thank you. I've been saying the exact same thing since this site got started. It's nice to know I'm not the only one that cares and wants to see this place succeed.
    • Linda Joy
I like this site. I'm still learning, but I'll probably hang around. Hopefully if I get frustrated again I'll take a break before I get snippy.

You are one of the smartest people here .. if you do (just take a break when you need one). Don't worry about the delinquents who live here 24/7 ... we'll / they'll get by just fine . Honest !! Besides ... Where would the likes of "Noname " or "beaker" be without you for more than a few days ??? They might be too shy to say it .... but we need you here .. sweetie !! You're part of the glue that makes this place work for the members. And.... I for one, have to say thank you !!!
    • Linda Joy
Aww! That's so sweet! Thank you! And here I thought I was one of the 24-7 delinquents! You're not the first to make me feel wanted here, and I appreciate it more than you know!
    • Linda Joy
Odd this question should come around just after you fussed at me for politely asking people to ask more questions.
    • Ice man
I thought the tone of your question was offensive to those of us who at least try to maintain some regularity here. My point being ... that not all of us have gobs of time on our hands.
  • 6-15-2017 Sounds like you haven't been to many forums. Most forums have a prominent date/time stamp so you know exactly how old a post is. Most forums have a button to only list threads with with new posts, and a button to go to the first unread post in a thread. Most forums have a tree structured directory so it's easy to see where you are and where the activity is. Most forums have a section for announcements and stuff. Compared to most forums, Answerbag is like dumpster diving.
    • Linda Joy
And yet you keep coming back as well! So I suppose they haven't kicked you off all the other forums then, right? I was on MSN qna along time ago before it closed.

I had almost a quarter million answers on YA when they banned me. That's ok, YA was getting awfully sucky. Most of my favorite sites folded. And then there were places like Frugal Squirrel and Timebomb2000 that just went wacko.

One of the things I like about your posts is that you date when you make them.
    • Hardcore Conservative
It would be nice to know how old the questions and answers are.
    • Jewels Vern
Posts with numbers less than 2 million in the url are from before 2010. Current posts have numbers above 3,490,000.
  • thats a lot of questions, i mostly answer them
    • Linda Joy
I did too my first month here. But then I realized if nobody asks questions there will be none to answer.
  • 20 questions in two days huh? You must be on busy bee.
    • Linda Joy
I think I ended up asking more than that when I was asked to post Bible trivia questions.
    • Rick Myres
Lol ya still have that sense of humor. :)
  • Maybe they were concerned about quality, not quantity.
    • Linda Joy
Or maybe they'd rather complain than contribute.
  • Yes. Wait, no? What was the question?
  • LOL - "crickets"? Sorry that I don't ask a lot of questions. My brain works more efficiently in research mode than inquisitive mode. Being on YA for years, I've seen too many stupid questions that the asker could easily find answers to on his own if he only learned how to use a search box. As for what it would take to make this a better site, two things I can mention offhand are 1) fix the icon function and 2) fix the notification function to give email alerts. Neither of these has anything to do with asking questions.
    • Linda Joy
If no one asks questions there will be no new ones to answer.

Looking at the types of questions that get asked here, you can maybe see how this place is such an attraction to the underachiever league. Some of us don't hang out in Fantasyland and so the questions that appeal to us are not that plentiful. I, myself, don't ask questions just to hear myself talk or try to make up for other people's shortcomings. Questions like, "Snow or no snow on Christmas?" don't stimulate my interests.
  • I answer any Qs that I can with a good answer.
