I think when Marconi invented radio he only had the trasnsmission of sounds in mind; but Tesla was much more fantastic and adventurous. He MUST have drawn up some plans for fart transmission . Look in the Smithsonian archives. I'm sure it's there. (right next to Mark Twain's underwear.) (Look for a sign that says "fart transmitter"). Now if it's not there, perhaps it was looted by the Nazis in WWII. But all is not lost. Simply have your astronuts fart into mayonnaise jars, cap them tightly, and send them back to Earth in escape pods. That oughta' do it.
